FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

We offer pediatric physical therapy services, with strong emphasis on gross motor skill acquisition. We offer sessions either in-person or virtually depending on the family's availability, location, and needs.

WHAT AGES DO YOU TREAT?

We love children of all ages! We do, however, specialize in birth to elementary school age children.

WHAT DIAGNOSES AND CONDITIONS DO YOU TREAT?

We have experience working with most pediatric diagnoses and conditions, including but not limited to: torticollis and plagiocephaly, prematurity, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, genetic conditions, neuromotor disorders, toe-walking, and autism. Even if your child doesn't have a specific diagnosis and is just showing signs of gross motor delay, we can help!

WHERE DO IN-PERSON SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?

We offer flexibility in treatment locations. We can conduct sessions in the clinic, but we also love treating out in the community! Examples in the community include (but certainly not limited to): playgrounds, community parks, indoor playgrounds, indoor gyms, shopping centers, theme parks, and grocery stores.

We can also perform in-person sessions at your home, which gives the provider a great glimpse into your child's main play environment along with the opportunity to make modifications!

*Please note, any locations >15 minute driving distance from Lake Nona, Florida (zip code: 32827) are subject to a travel fee.*

CAN I SWITCH BETWEEN VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON SESSIONS?

Of course! (as long as you are local to Orlando, Florida) There is no requirement to perform all sessions virtually or in-person.

WHAT ARE SESSIONS LIKE?

We follow a play-based approach, so our sessions are primarily guided by your child! Research shows that learning occurs most optimally when your child is engaged and motivated! With that being said, we do always ask what your main goals are at the beginning of each session to make sure we optimally tailor our sessions to your family's needs.

DO YOU OFFER GROUP SESSIONS?

We can certainly set something up if there is a need...either virtually or in-person. This would be perfect for play dates, meeting up with other families, and providing social interaction for your children while working on gross motor skills. After all, children can learn a lot from their peers!

HOW SOON CAN WE START SESSIONS?

Virtual consultations can be booked online, with availability as early as tomorrow! In-person sessions can be booked within 1-2 weeks (or sooner depending on your availability) from initial inquiry.

IF I SCHEDULE WEEKLY SESSIONS, WILL I HAVE THE SAME DAY AND TIME EVERY WEEK?

The answer depends on your schedule. We know how busy families can be, so we are very flexible with our scheduling options. Once the initial assessment is completed, additional information will be provided on scheduling. All scheduling can be completed online with the therapist's real-time availability, giving families the option of scheduling around other appointments and commitments. If you would like consistency and prefer the same day and time, we can make that work as well!

WILL I RECEIVE A REPORT DETAILING THE PLAN OF CARE AND GOALS?

Absolutely! We strive to achieve your family's goals for your child, so we will provide the report with written goals and recommendations. This report would also be helpful to bring to daycare, IEP meetings, and other settings to advocate for your child based on their needs!

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

We are an out-of-pocket payment provider, which means that you are billed for the sessions at the time services are provided.

We do not submit to insurance companies and are not in-network with insurance companies. With this approach, you will never receive additional (and larger) bills after services are rendered as all pricing is fixed. In most cases, our pricing is less than your out-of-pocket responsibilities when billed through insurance depending on your deductible and co-insurance/co-pay. In addition, we do not need to count visits and stop services if your plan has a strict limit on PT sessions.

We do understand that most of our families have health insurance benefits, so we are happy to provide a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. With that being said, we cannot guarantee that your insurance company will cover our services when you submit a superbill for reimbursement. Our best recommendation is to call your insurance company ahead of time to see if they accept superbills and what the process is for reimbursement. Reimbursify is helpful in submitting claims for reimbursement for out-of-network providers (like us).

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

We proudly offer military (active and retired), first responder, and health-care worker discounts to thank our families for their service.

WHAT PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED?

We accept cash, credit, FSA/HSA cards, and funds from the Family Empowerment Scholarship Program (formerly the Gardiner Scholarship). Please note that payment is required to book a virtual consultation and due at the time of service for in-person sessions.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

We understand unforeseen circumstances (family emergencies, illness) happen. In order to serve as many families as possible, we ask that you reschedule or cancel your session as soon as a scheduling conflict arises.

  • Appointments cancelled 24 hours in advance: full refund.

  • Appointments cancelled within 24 hours: credit toward a future session.

  • No show appointments: $30 fee

WHY CHOOSE YOU FOR PEDIATRIC PHYSICAL THERAPY?

We are here for you and to work specifically on your goals! We offer play-centered, goal-directed treatment sessions to help your child reach their greatest potential.
